i finished my re-read of Gone With the Wind last night, having a few tearful moments when Miss Melly died~oh i know, i know!
so this morning, while sitting in bed with my lemon tea and watching my bird visitors finally find the peanuts i started...
during the years between my last reading and now i had forgot how gloriously, gothic and just plain odd it is. i am so excited to have finally started it as all three have been carefully packed away during the move.
if you are looking for a new book and want something...different...read this!

I don't re-read enough....you're inspiring me!
I'm reading Cold Comfort Farm right now and loving it --- ! I really enjoy the main character -- she is not afraid to ask for what she needs, and she's not afraid to speak her mind, or to sit in uncomfortable silence.... Plus, the book is hilarious!
I hope you have a good night. Good luck with the leaky bath...and yes, be glad you don't own the place :) (ours, I'm afraid, is bad, too....)
There is an award on my blog for you!
Twiggy x
WOW! Lots of good stuff to catch up on! I love reading and rereading gone with the wind. It truly is a glorious book! I try to reread it every few years.
Ah, the dreaded building inspector, they usually bring about bad news with them! Hopefully you are able to get the leaky tap fixed quicky, damp and mildewy wood quickly turns into dangerous mold! We had some in the house here too, it't hard to dry up and get rid of! Best solution is a mixture of water, bleach, soap and teatree oil. Its a great cleaning combination especially for colour safe surfaces in the bathroom! Straight bleach will work wonders aswell to kill that mildew!
Best of luck! Enjoy your new sourroundings! It looks wonderful
Sounds perfect...drinking tea and reading in bed. One of my most favourite things to do you know.
And Gone With the Wind, (I think)is the longest book I've ever read.
But it soooooo good, isn't it?
xo
Oooh i am trying to get into gormenghast (can't spell) ... will try harder!! x
Hi there! I've been catching up on your blog from my trip. Glad your move went fairly smoothly-sad about the beast, though. Looks like you all are settling into that cute place! What fun it will be making it all your own! Hope the mildew thing gets taken care of soon!
That second book looks very interesting-i'll have to check it out!
I never did complete Titus Groan. Once I'd read the completion of Steerpike's story, I found the pace too slow. ;)
