The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~a drive through my day~

today i thought i would take you on a journey to my farm shop and show more of the new forest~this time not the tangled woods but the open moors

frost on our front lawn this morning~my it was chilly

the chickens at the farm shop enjoing the sunshine

our village is down in a bowl set into the land surrounded by woodland, i am sure this is why we seem to ave our own little ecosystem. we drive up and out onto the open moorland

gorse loosing its bright yellow flowers~we have such a 'big sky' up here

driving into the village over the railway~we have a 'heritage line' running from here to lymington with last remaining slam-door rolling stock

one of the 'main' roads into the village coming in from the west~my mum and sister live just up round the corner...

the front of my old primary school~when i started there was under 100 pupils and we all walked in every day whatever the weather~not any more...

now i am having an afternoon break from my studies to make pumpkin pie...

Oh thank you for the lovely drive this morning! I can understand why you wanted to move back so badly.

Gorgeous pictures Lee,I'm loving the visit to your village and the school house is just like the one I went to in our village and like you we walked there no matter what the weather. You sound so contented being back there,I'm so pleased for you.
Love from Kathy and the girls

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
