The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~of mirkwood days~

today started out so promising with blue skies and sunshine.

i wish it could have stayed that way.

yesterday we finally made a start on our dreadful back garden, clearing and chipping and digging~yes its so bad it needs digging over. but we keep having a case of 'rain stopped play'

swampy has just gone off to return my mum's chipper and bring back our trailer (which mum kindly keeps safe on her driveway when we are not using it) to load in bags of chipped and non-chipped greenery as well as a bag of rubble that whoever built this house just dug into the back garden rather than remove!
as it started to rain...again...i came in deciding to visit blogs and post myself...however even that is impossible as we seem to be experiencing Internet connection problems.

i just get the feeling that everything is telling me to give up and just sit with a book and a cup of tea!
...as i write there is a huge downpour of not just rain but sleet.
oh, i am getting so tired of this weather, i am an autumn~winter girl but at this point in time i am longing for endless days of blue skies and sunshine~not hot days, ones like we had last week were just perfect.
i find myself thinking of days spent in the finally finished garden, or up the allotment or even better of days where we take off in pippin to some solitary place~i have an inkling to spend some time in wales.

but first we need to finish the garden and get the allotment sorted~to say nothing of finishing our decorating here in our 'forever home'

I'm with you on the weather, last weekend was just lovely up here. We're having hailstones, rain, sleet you name it at the moment ;)

The weather over here has interrupted my garden plans too. But the cup of tea and book sound nice :)

I am an autumn winter girl too but as time gets towards spring, I tend to get edgy wanting the warmer weather and our weather isn't nearly as cold as yours.. but I am loving autumn right now

thanks tons for continuing the visits to Inglewood while I have been distracted with life stuff.. much appreciated xoxo
hopefully life has calmed and I can get back into the swing of things xoox

Ummm...I totally understand being sick and tired of weather. We just got another foot of snow last night...(I'm trying to make you feel better...:-)

Wishing you blue skies and sunshine...
(and a trip to Wales...sigh...my dream place to visit.)

Be glad you're not in South Dakota, where it's snowing--again. Poor people, they must think winter never ends.

I understand your longing for sunshine, though. Sometimes I think I'll grow webs between my toes before the sun ever shines again.

Hi Lee, I can't get warm at all today, whats happened to that lovely sunny spring weather. Beltane will be upon us soon and I'm off to camp in Brokenhurst. Are you going? xxxx

The weather is very up and down isn't it - typical Spring really. It's been lovely here today and I've been working in the garden. Slow and steady stuff as I've strained my neck and shoulders somehow or other. I think your little blue flowers are Campanula poscharskyana - be warned, it travels! I have it where it can't travel very far but am constantly pulling handfuls out. It's very pretty though and will flower a second time if you cut it right back - well, actually I just grab handfuls and pull!

If you do come to Wales be sure to pop in for a cup of tea!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
