The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~crochet~

this is one of my projects, when finished it will be a shawl/wrap for a friend who has been very poorly~hopefully something she can cuddle up in when having a bad day.
the photos really do not do justice to the colour so i may well take it into the garden tomorrow for another photo shoot.

i bought a set of 12 bamboo hooks recently~the metal ones i have felt too hard in my hand, the bamboo ones feel so much softer and organic and are a joy to use.

I love bamboo! the clothes and combs are gorgeous too.. I even have bamboo toothbrushes.

Bamboo forests could be an answer to so many creative issues - as long as they dont fell trees to make room for it. It grows in the hedges here so we have it ' on tap ' for veg plot and fence use. We also buy bamboo paper coffee filtres. I would like to learn the skill of crochet - so versatile. Maybe when we have finished renovating I'll have a go ! Lucky friend - she'll feel so snug and hugged.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
