The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~dark moon frustration~

its the dark moon and i am feeling somewhat frustrated that so far this evening my plan to sit in my garden surrounded by candle light has been foiled by the people who live in the next road but whose back garden reaches to the little path way that sits to one side of our house.

to say they are noisy is an understatement...i think it is the grandparents having their children and grandchildren around for the day...last year it was every nice weekend there was and there were not that many to enjoy...the children were at school with my sister and the family is known for being...loud.

so...one day last year they started in the morning and did not stop until 10.30 at night...and its not just the children that scream...loudly and consistently...its ALL OF THEM (sorry yes i am shouting)

*moments later*
i just let flynt into the garden, its 9.27pm and they are still going strong.

they have been going at it nearly all day...

i am sitting wondering if i should dare to post a letter through their door asking them to maybe be a bit more considerate of those living around them who may wish to enjoy their own gardens on a nice day.
its been that bad i have e-mailed the council asking for one of their forms that enables you to log noise over time...i am even going to set swampy's little voice recorder up in the garden next time so i have an actual record of it all.

i have actually been near to tears with frustration today at not being able to get out and enjoy time in my garden...

Oh Loai I am so sorry you are having problems with these people. I'm sure that some don't know just how much noise they make. There is a pub 20 feet away from our house and 90% of the time we don't hear anything going on but there is always one group that visit the village for a week every year that really like to let us all know they have arrived and boy do I want to get them kicked out of the place, thank god they only come once a yr. I do hope you get things sorted you have such a beautiful garden you deserve to be able to sit out in it when you want to. Good luck my friend and try not to get stressed. Hugs xxx

I sympathise as i have the same problem. Very noisy neighbours. A family who moved in 2 years ago, always footballs or other balls coming over the fence, and often breaking my flowers, constant noise from children who dont have a volume button- their default seems to be 'shouting mode' I garden when they are out, its impossible to relax when they are home, as they are always outside, and so loud. I try to garden mostly on wednesdays when i am at home, and they are at work/ school. I dont often sit outside reading now, as its just not quiet anymore :-(. thats why i love my early mornings, its peaceful out there, before they all wake up. Sigh.

thanks Leanne and Jill :) its cooler here today and so far no noise. i think the children bring the grandchildren over on the weekends when its hot and sunny and they have a bbq etc...yesterday as i was putting the ferrets back to bed i could hear a dad bellowing about there being no chicken *sigh*!

ugh...that's horrible. and especially cruel that you can't enjoy your beautiful garden...

i can empathize with the neighbour-issue -- we had a rather trying bunch at our old house...although now our noisiest neighbours are the birds...;)

i think you're well within your rights to ask them to be mindful of others...some people just don't have a clue....

oh if we could escape people!!
I totally understand where you are coming from here and honestly, people need to be aware of others around them.. it's like they think they live on another planet with the noise some of them make.
hope it gets sorted for you xo

Hi Laoi, I can really sympathise with you, I used to have such noisy neighbours, their children were always so loud, mind you the parents were just as loud, and their dogs were always escaping into my garden, when I tried to talk to them about it all I got was a blank stare and a couldn't care less attitude. I think today, people just don't think, they live in their own little selfish world. I do hope the situation improves for you, in my case I just had to move in the end, now it's lovely, I have birdsong waking me up. Sending some quieting energies your way.
Love Wendy x
