The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~kitty & the kittens~

so

we are having two new family members coming to us soon...

six weeks ago today one of the many cats that visits my mums garden, along with foxes and badgers, had a litter of five kittens in her hedgehog house.

worried about what other cats might do and afraid to leave them over night to the foxes and badgers the little family was brought in to the safety of the porch at the back door and the following day my sister went to the person she knew owned this little girl.

this person promptly denied all knowledge of this little girl and produced a cat saying it was their only cat. knowing how irresponsible this person is with her cats~this was this little girls 3 or 4th litter in only a couple of years, my sister did not press the point and we all agreed to help out with the new family.
we took them all to our vets on the second day just to make sure all was well and see if the vet could tell us which were boys and girls.the place almost shut down due to the flood of people wanting to come and see them all as they very rarely have such young kittens brought in. as it turns out sexing them was easy and we found out how special kitty (our name for her!) is...ginger female cats are very rare and so the three ginger kits were boys and the two tortoiseshell girls.

a bit fuzzy as taken with my phone quickly at the vets...one day old

we have watched this little family grow and grow and kitty has been a wonderful mum. the kittens are active, healthy little butterballs who are already eating solids and getting into all kinds of mischief.
my sister has found three of them good homes with people she works with and we are having a ginger boy, magpie~who has almost identical markings to kitty and one brother, and a tortoiseshell girl, leveret.

Will they go a-travelling in the 'van too with the rest of the menagerie? LOL!
They'd get lots of cuddles and fuss at any Stonewylde meet!
Enjoy!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
