The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~new year blessings~

although i celebrate my new year at samhain, this year i find myself caught up in a wave of excitement from those around me, those near and far.
i have bucks fizz chilling and a lovely lemon roulade waiting to be enjoyed.
i fully intend on staying up until midnight, something that i never do.

yesterday we went out for a wonderful walk...

one of the many fallen trees after the recent storms

the floods are slowly going down

bronze age bowl barrow has had some preservation work and been fenced off

it was a really beautiful walk after so many days of heavy rain and gale force winds, a perfect walk to round off the year.

today we popped out to see if we could buy any goodies...and i did!

i bought a new moleskine journal, hobbit badges, some rowan tweed aran, new bamboo knitting needles and the shamans oracle...

a little cath kidston gadget case which fits my blackberry perfectly...

my new calendar...

and swampy bought me...

i am determined to learn to knit properly this year. i can knit...increase, decrease, purl etc but i am a quite 'clumsy' knitter so i am sure i will improve no end.

yesterday i ordered my new earth pathways diary, one thing i can never do without.

well me loves...stopping here and wishing you all a very happy new year.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
