The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~5 days of enchantment~day 4~

hello to day four (four? already?!)

of my blogalong with jani's

and its

 water

i am so excited as water really is me...that's why i put it up in huge letters

of course by now you know i am an Aquarian (by the way i really am the Aquarian you read about in all those pages you find on the characters of Aquarians...in fact i could have written the book on being an Aquarian...honest.

anyway so fixed air sign but the water bearer is not all about water as we might think (depending on our source) but of duality and the cleansing power of water. i would delve into this deeper but we are off camping today and i really need to be getting dressed and finishing my packing but hey...this is important to me!

water...
although i do drink other things, water is always my first love~i always think how clean it is, how it really does symbolise a cleansing force in every way, for all of us animal species and pachamama too.

however for me showering and bathing is not an enjoyable experience...rest assured i do bathe/shower, i don't go around my daily life in a little cloud of grubby miasma like
it is linked with my m.e/fibro that what should be a nice relaxing bath as suggested many times by swampy to help ease the pain only makes me feel incredibly unwell and so i always shower, which seems to take forever as i live in constant fear of having a dizzy spell or one of my regular stumbles and  brain myself on the sink as i fall out of the bath.

so my alternative ritual for bringing water into my daily life involves my sacred garden
i have a small pond with a waterfall which sits under my rowan which i adore. okay so it is a manmade structure but it is all aging nicely...i do love a nice bit of lichen! and the grass has grown right up to the edges so it now looks like some natural pool you would find in a forest glade.

then a few weeks ago when i started to work with the elements and creating areas for each i wanted some natural bowl to place in the west...well a trip down the tip (sorry...ahem...'recycling centre') with some green to be composted i found a large grey carved marble bowl...oh how perfect was that? i needed something and it was put in my path (this has happened quite a few times down the tip which is quite spooky...in a good way)
it now sits in the west where i refresh it with clean water every few days, while the old waters my garden.

now i really must get going and finish my packing as we have to be at the cattery at 10am...my heart is breaking at having to leave my kittens even for 6 days...i secretly kept hoping i would go down with a cold in order to stay home with them.

if i can get on wifi i will be writing day 5 tomorrow...if not i shall blog it when i am home but will try to post pictures from my playbook on the facebook group!

~5 days of enchantment*day one~

today is day one of jani's mini e-course before the start of her everyday enchantment e-course (link to the left!) and i am very excited to be a part of it and blogging along with jani~its giving me a fizzy, positive feeling.
i have the playbook downloaded and hinting to swampy that i need the printer out of the cupboard so that i can print it out!

anyway today's blogalong is day one and all about the earth, pebbles and bare feet...grrrrrrrr...makes me feel all growly and perfect!

i love stones, i have them everywhere in my house and garden (and camper!) and when out i always come home with more in my pockets and /or bag.

this is my 'pebble'

a piece of flint i found while walking across the heathland a mile or so from this hobbit hole i call a home. i keep it in a small wooden bowl along with a few other pieces of importance on my 'altar' in our living room...it resonates with me because it makes me think of my ancestors. not just my near ancestors, those i have connected with back to the 1500's but the deeper ancestors going back millennia. its odd but i was watching a three part documentary this morning (i was awake very early!) about the origins of man and watching it i was feeling very...grrrrrrrr...thinking about deep sacred history.
the fact i found this near one of the bronze age barrows that are dotted around the village and the fact it almost resembles an arrow head or spear point makes this stone...important? is that the right word?

i love not wearing anything on my feet, it is a bit of a dodgy venture for me because of my diabetes but if i know what's underfoot its fine...like the end of our garden where i am slowly developing my sacred garden.
the grass is green and lush and i find joy in having the plants that some people call 'weeds' growing in it.
this is where i practice my yoga under the open sky

it has a good vibration~when i dowsed it recently i found my garden is a mass of spirals that lead to this area that is surrounded by some of the trees from the ogham~rowan, oak, birch, holly, hawthorn. hazel and elder.

it grounds me totally and i can spend hours there, sitting on the edge of my 'sky deck' (perfect for watching the night sky) with my feet in the grass, doing nothing, just being.

as an air sign the earth helps ground me and connect the mind and body...

my earthy words...

soil~barrows~growing~wood~stone

grass~weeds~touch~smell~rain

flowers~rain~wind~earthing~dig

seed~roots~trees~bones~love

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
