The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~and so where now?~

where now indeed?

what is important for me is to try and maintain the feelings this trip and my experiences brought me.
i know there is no way that those exact feelings can ever be recreated, in the way of everything they are part of the movement of life and they have moved on with the air, flowed away with the water that comes from the swallowhead spring

as with everything we must move forward, grow, change and develop
and that is where i am now.

i need to move forwards in order not to stagnate and develop on the feelings and change that i experienced during this initiation
my experience was too important for me not to lose it in anyway and with anything we have to make sacrifices in order to maintain something so special.

with all important things in life sacrifices are made, not the sacrifices of old of course but sacrifices nonetheless...

like so many of us social media has become an important way of keeping connected with friends and family but sometimes i have days where i feel i am keeping connected too much and i can find precious hours have passed me by while i have been busy keeping connected.

that is my sacrifice, to limit that connection aside from my daily connection with my family, tribe and wylde systerhood, and keep focus on the other...not to become too involved in the general of facebook or indeed the internet as a whole.

of course sometimes that is difficult to maintain, especially when i am not feeling at my best and my motivation is taken over with tiredness and pain...but i can at least try

~is this me?~sun signs & elements~

i have been thinking these thoughts for some days now and decided it was time to write it down.

i am a water bearing, fixed (fixed signs can be found at the zenith of each season), original eleventh house, Aquarian, embracing the element of air.

i have always 'felt' an Aquarian, everything~well about 99%~ i have read about the sign i can say for sure 'thats me'.

... original, unruly and wild sign; restless and socially active; original with a strong independent streak; critical towards society, even secretly enamored with anarchy; tendencies toward humanism; privacy is important to them and dislike unapproved encroachment on personal space; dislikes control, ego plays, pointless meetings, narrow-mindedness,routine, fighting/violence, inequality...
Air is the manifestation of movement, communication, intelligence and can be felt in the air that we breathe every day.
In magical terms Air is the force of intellect, inspiration, imagination, the power of the mind...it is ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes.
the element of new life and new possibilities.
It is the vital spirit passing through all things, giving life to all things, moving and filling all things.
Air, celtic name airt, is a light, active element and is contrary to Earth. It is associated with the qualities of darkness, thinness and motion.
~think~
yellow, sunrise and sunset, mountaintops, gwydion
druid of the mainland gods, visualization, wind swept leaves, birds, lugh, spring, incense smoke, divination, merlin, the east, copper, arianrhod
goddess of reincarnation, taliesen...

i can see plenty of myself in these words and will come back to this...

~feeling more alive~

cody was very mystified by the regular, mysterious puffs of steam coming from the bottom of the field!

an early morning shot~swampys daughter louise was camped in the tent, her first proper camping trip and she was so brave!

golly its taken me a few days to get over my cold equinox and the long drive, i am now feeling not too bad so thought i would pop in and reply to some comments!

i have to say we have never camped in such cold conditions but there was something special about waking up, peeking out of the window and seeing snow and one morning we woke and our curtains were frozen to the window!

i think we can class ourselves as all-weather campers for sure!

the north yorkshire moors steam railway ran along the bottom of our field so twice an hour we had a steam train chugging by~the most amazing site. we went down to the station a few times to get photos and to stand a foot away from an old, but working, steam engine is amazing.

we have decided to buy ourselves a three season sleeping bag each however~and luckily they had a sale on in millets and we were able to buy two 'mummy' bags' for £40~typically a week late, but we have them now!~as a new years camp has been suggested i really think we will need them!

cody loved the snow, he did try to eat some snow and was busy digging up icy patches, it was so cold we did let him sleep up on the bed with us for some extra warmth! a couple of mornings he was shivering bless him. but he did meet a new friend, a boarder terrier puppy called skipper who was very cute, his old friend a black lab called smudge and his best human friend sally who brought him a new 'springer' bandana!
however cold it was i did have the most amazing feeling of connection to the elements being in such a wild spot, the grassy earth, the gales, the warmth of the sun when it occaisionally came out, the clear, cold bubbling streams and rivers and the full moon. i felt really blessed to be out experiencing this weather at such close quarters
All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
