The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

no postings for a few days as my laptop had to be sent back due to crashing and swampy has been busy here sorting out magazine write up's and playing his role of club secretary!

he also found time to fix an almost terminal problen with Pippin...but today he finally finished that job, took Pippin for a test drive and all is well...the engine just needs sorting now!

i have been busy, as is usual now with my studies, but fingers crossed i will finish my reading this week and make good progress on my next piece of work.

but, and i am really pleased with this...i have been making time for more spiritual things...and have i needed it after spending time reading and making notes on political philosophy!!!

last night i tucked myself in bed and was going through one of my herbal books, deciding on what new things to grow this coming year. i am finding myself constantly thinking on making more use of my garden as a spiritual retreat. it's a front garden but due to our location we have very little passing traffic. i have already decided that an area that was a flower bed last year will be turned into a seating area surrounded with herbs...a good place to sit and think and journal and enjoy the views of the hills.

i also put aside time to start to meditate again and have found myself to be much more focused than before.

it certainly does feel like the few months of being disconnected are slowly lifting and i can feel the change within me...its still deep but coming to the surface!

I love the sound of your seating area with herbs, the smell and feel of herbs is very soothing especially lavender and rosemary and lemon balm.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
